在主道(造化)之始,我為主所有,即在太初,在造物之先,在萬世之先,在元始,尚未有地,我已被立(受膏),未有深淵,未有大水之泉源,我已先生,山嶽尚未奠定,岡陵尚未有之先,凡已先生,主尚未造大地田野及寰宇之高壤,我已在矣,主創造穹蒼,使空氣田周涵葢大淵,我已同在,主在上鋪張天雲,使淵泉洶湧,為海定限,使水不越岸,並立大地之根基,其時我與主偕在為巧匠,日日為主所悅(日日喜悅不勝),恆踴躍於主前,踴躍於主之寰區,亦甚喜悅世人.
箴言8:22-31
在耶和華造化的起頭、在太初創造萬物之先、就有了我。
從亙古、從太初、未有世界以前、我已被立。
沒有深淵、沒有大水的泉源、我已生出。
大山未曾奠定、小山未有之先、我已生出。
耶和華還沒有創造大地、和田野、並世上的土質、我已生出。
他立高天、我在那裏．他在淵面的周圍、劃出圓圈、
上使穹蒼堅硬、下使淵源穩固、
為滄海定出界限、使水不越過他的命令、立定大地的根基．
那時、我在他那裏為工師、日日為他所喜愛、常常在他面前踴躍、
踴躍在他為人預備可住之地、也喜悅住在世人之間。

I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
